When we are worried we have forgotten God’s perfect nature. We have forgotten His plan of redemption and we have misplaced our fear from where it rightly belongs. There is actually nothing wrong with fear. Fear is healthy. If you aren’t afraid of the police then you are in for some serious trouble. Fear itself is not the problem, misplaced fear is the problem. Fear leads to obedience, and in the natural order it is God who we must fear and obey above everyone and everything. Because God is perfect and the source of all good, obedience leads to eternal life and abundance. Fear in this case is good and useful. But because the devil wants to be God, he inverted that natural order and has used fear as a tool to get us to obey him and a fallen world through the power of death.
