As an ex-pat New Zealander, I noted your reference Tudor, to demonic possession - or at least influence - in the Maori haka. It is traditionally a war dance to frighten the enemy before a battle, (we were told growing up). Of course, both sides would have been trying to scare the other back in the day, so I'm not sure if it actually worked as it would have been more of a tit for tat theatre - to see who could stick their tongue out the furtherest or look the most frightening. I'm European (Dutch), not Maori, but growing up I never saw this as particularly anything - just a cultural thing belonging to Maori people. However, I don't view things as I once did, so now the haka is under the microscope. Ah well, another thing that isn't what it seems....a new thing every day eh?

People defend these things as cultural traditions but they forget that there is only truth and error. Paganism is ultimately the worship of the devil and the Maori people were pagans. But you don't need to even need to know all of that because just look at the fruits of these things and they are completely in alignment with other delusional things like the charismatic movement.
